1. Send Your File

E-Mail: Send an ASCII (plain text) version of your resume by e-mail. If you need help converting your resume to plain text file, you can 1) click here for do-it-yourself instructions, or 2) Send us your "word processed" file and pay $50 extra for ASCII conversion.

Fax: If your resume is not available in electronic format, you may fax your hard copy to (503) 213-6022, 24 hours a day. Because the text from faxed documents must be input from scratch, this option is $50 more.

2. Select a Style

Review the styles in the CareerFolios Gallery and let us know which style you prefer by using its "name" – for example, Jon Newton, Regina Rodrigues, James Sanderson, and so on.

To get a price quote for resume writing, editing, or updating, send the following information to Pat Kendall by e-mail (reslady@aol.com) and/or fax (503-213-6022):

1) Resumes, updates, rough drafts, related documents, job descriptions, etc.

2) If you're using the resume for job search purposes, we need to see 1-3 examples of your "ideal" job target. If the resume will be used for purposes other than job seeking, keyword examples will not be needed.

Note: The job target samples you provide are used to assess how much "resume development" is needed, based on how well your resume addresses needed keyword skills. In the resume-writing process, keywords are used as building blocks and they determine overall resume strategy.

3) A brief description of any specific needs or concerns.

4) Your e-mail address or telephone number (and the best time to call).

The Process: Once I receive all needed documents, I will do an assessment to determine what level of writing, editing and/or development is needed to create a "competitive" document. In most cases, I can provide recommendations and a price quote with 72 hours. If you need to expedite the process, be sure to ask about turnaround time when you submit your materials.

Disadvantages: Not designed for multiple pages, photos, or customized graphics. There is a learning curve for those who don't have experience with cutting and pasting between multiple windows.

Description: HTML-based resume (one or more hyperlinked pages) created with any combination of formatted pages, graphic files, downloads, internal links, external links, navigation systems, etc. (requires basic-to-advanced HTML competency).

Samples: Gallery of Web Resumes. Most of the styles in this gallery were featured in McGraw-Hill's eResumes book; some of the styles (as noted) were created with CareerFolios' Web resume templates.

Advantages: Page design and graphics are completely customizable and can project whatever "marketing image" benefits your candidacy: classic, professional, corporate, technical, creative, elegant, alternative, etc. Web resumes can also be expanded later into full-scale portfolios as your career progresses.

Disadvantages: URL and Web hosting are not included in price and must be factored in. Most job seekers do not have the HTML and FTP skills needed for updating / maintenance and will need the services of a webmaster when revisions are needed.
